We are aware that a lot of our clients that are interested in getting a temporary tattoo (or several) have also looked into henna temporary tattoo options. And even though we are obviously biased, those of us at Inkd Temporary Tattoo think that henna body art is amazing and we highly recommend this option to clients who are looking for a more involved, intricate, and longer lasting temporary tattoo or body art.
At the same time, we also want to give a word of caution. We have heard that there are several vendors and shops that are advertising the sale of black henna. Our friends in the henna art business have warned us that we should let all of our clients know that they should stay away from any product claiming it is black henna.
This is due to the fact that black henna is not really henna at all, and is more likely a type of dye called para-phenylenediamine. This is nasty substance that is also used as a synthetic hair dye that should never be in contact with skin. A temporary tattoo done with these types of dyes can cause blisters, sores and even scarring.
Before you apply a temporary tattoo that claims to be henna, make sure you check the box. If it is a green powder, you are fine. However, if the substance is dark brown or black, it is safer to not use it.
At Inkd Temporary Tattoo, we love all things temporary (except good service that is). Any body art that is beautiful, well done and safe is alright with us. We just want to make sure you leave the black stuff well enough alone! If you have additional questions, you might want to visit www.hennapage.com for more information about henna, indigo and black henna. Of course, if you’d rather keep things simple and just get a nice, safe temporary tattoo from us, visit our product page and order away!
